Professional wrestling is an art. The Work of Wrestling is dedicated to exploring that simple truth. Host & author Tim Kail analyzes wrestling matches, explicates promos, reviews pay-per-views, and shares personal stories in an effort to provide pro-wrestling the in-depth arts criticism it genuinely deserves.

This week Work of Wrestling host Tim Kail dedicates the show to the recently passed Roddy Piper. For The Lock Up (8:00) Tim discusses his difficulty accepting change in NXT, and explains how he currently doesn't feel an incentive to tune in with the frequency he once did now that his favorite performers are moving on to RAW. The High Spot (19:30) is dedicated to exploring the value of pain, citing a scene from Star Trek V: The Final Frontier as both a compelling argument for embracing the pain of our lives, but also an argument in favor of Bray Wyatt grounding his promos in something relatable and real rather than attempting to make grandiouse, vague points about the pitfalls of humanity. Lastly, in The Finish (35:50), Tim shares a story about how a Roddy Piper promo about The Wrestler from 2009 has stayed with him and inspired him all these years later.
